Internet Explorer Security Bugs Web Surfers
Posted by Tony Moy in Web technology,
Alot of new press is out concerning major security flaws of Internet Explorer going back to version 5.0. The flaw allows unscrupulous individuals to exploit the flaws and gain access to users passwords and other personal information. Unlike other rumors of IE deficiencies, these attacks are far from theoretical.
Microsoft has placed notices on their site with current workarounds as well as patch schedules over the next day or two. It seems from various posts that IE will be releasing announcements and patches within the next few days, but Microsoft has not released a fixed date as of yet. In the mean time it is recommended (by Tecture and other industry experts) to switch to a new browser for the time being. This does not mean to uninstall Internet Explorer, but to simply wait until the appropriate fix is released by Microsoft. Visit the following links for more information.
