With the advent of social networking websites such as Facebook, Tecture designs unique solutions for its clients to tap the large, captive audiences on these sites.
Our approach is to leverage the open application programming interfaces (APIs) exposed by such sites rather than re-invent and build a social network from scratch. Facebook and other social networking sites already have key features such as friending, messaging, and mobile, and its users already use it as their portal for communicating with friends and family. Facebook is no longer just a website — it is now the de facto social networking service used by internet users.
Sharing: the impact of Like, Recommend, and +1
We cannot emphasize enough the importance of Facebook's Like button. Rather than merely engaging fans or customers on a business level, you can engage them on a product (or blog post, or article, or photo, or event, or cause, etc) level. This gives you many more opportunities to be seen and for word of your business to be spread through their social networks. Facebook's Like button was so successful, in fact, that Google created its own social networking site, Google+. Google's version of the Like button is the +1 button.
