Announced on: 08/27/09 In today's Weekend Guide on the Daily Candy, Tecture's client Common Threads'  1st Annual World Cookout gets promoted.  The cookout takes place at Fulton’s on the River, to benefit Common Threads. Chicago-area chefs will join wineries, brewers and mixologists to raise money for the disadvantaged children in Common Threads' after-school cooking programs.

Several confirmed Chefs for the event include: Rodelio Abilgot, Sunda; Robert Andrea, Jake Melnick's; Radhika Desai, Top Chef Season 5; Jonathan Fox, La Madia; Gale Gand, TRU; James Gottwald, Rockit Bar & Grill; Sarah Grueneberg, Spiaggia; Suzanne Imaz, Cafe Des Architectes; Stephanie Izard, Top Chef Season 4; Bill Kim, Urban Belly; Mark Mendez, Carnivale; Martial Noguier, Cafe Des Architectes; Chris Pandel, The Bristol; Toni Roberts, C-House, Giuseppe Tentori, Boka; Dominique Tougne, Bistro 110; Paul Virant, Vie; and Mixologist Adam Seger, Nacional 27.

Common Threads teaches low-income children to cook wholesome and affordable meals, believing that through hands-on cooking classes, childhood obesity can be prevented.  Hopefully reversing the trend of generations of non-cookers.  Common Threads celebrates cultural differences and the things people all over the world have in common through a variety of activities, sponsorships, and events that they provide throughout the year.
