Edward Don & Company is the world's leader in foodservice equipment and supplies distribution. Don's worldwide customer base numbering 70,000 includes national chains, independent restaurants, country clubs, schools and universities, government institutions, and many more foodservice management businesses. Next time you dine out, check the bottom of that glassware, silverware, or, if you're feeling particularly bold, sneak into the kitchen to take a peek at any of the preparation utensils used and chances are you will see the familiar Don logo on any of their 12,000 items in their immediate inventory. It's the reason they've earned their tagline: Don Delivers Everything But the Food!

Tecture provided new redesign and development primarily focusing on improving the aesthetic and usability of the client online ordering process. Guided by a precise and strategic site wireframing phase, Tecture's designs for the site brought current Don's overall web presentation, simplifying the online ordering, all while keeping within Don's brand standards that maintain uninterrupted recognition with their industry and customers.

The online ordering process now has been enhanced with product detail rollovers, a convenient persistent shopping cart, a more modern shipping/tracking grid, and a saved orders feature, making re-orders of commonly-ordered items quick and effortless. Enhancing the ease and quickness of ordering is the quick product view feature, allowing customers to view indidivual item information without leaving the convenience of the product list they are viewing.

12,000 catalog items make for a long and arduous browsing experience, but Tecture has developed an appropriate quick-filtering "mega-menu," enabling Edward Don's customers to quickly and systematically navigate into this deep, complex inventory. With just one single click, customers can now find items otherwise buried 2-3 levels within a category, minimizing browsing time.

Tecture worked with Don developers in integrating the custom HTML and CSS into the existing website and offered continued supportive on-call efforts during the launch and post-launch period.
