With the rapid improvements to smart phone technology, people are carrying the internet in the palm of their hand. Many websites, especially those that are driven by ecommerce, receive huge benefits from mobile websites. Knowing where the experts were, McGonigel's Mucky Duck sought out Tecture to create a ecommerce backend for their website. In addition, Tecture created a site optimized for mobile devices. Today, the Tecture-made ticket selling software generates thousands of dollars every week in online ticket sales.

Unlimited mobile data plans are becoming more and more extinct as phone service providers clamp down on free-for-all usage. Loading standard web pages onto a mobile device can eat up that precious data and take a long time doing it, depending on the strength of the signal. A mobile site simplifies the whole website and narrows it down to only the most needed information. For McGonigel's, the most important part of its business is live music shows and the ticket sales generated from those shows. While the full desktop site features a dining menu and other information, people accessing from a phone just want to buy their tickets and be on their way.

Tecture created a simple mobile site, with prominent buttons for show information and ticket purchases. The site loads much faster than a the whole website otherwise would when viewed on a mobile device. The mobile site is fully integrated within the admin of the main site so that changes made in the admin affect both the full site and its mobile counterpart simultaneously.

“You want to carry over the identity and brand when creating a mobile site.” said Jay Simon, project manager at Tecture. “Though the actions a visitor can take on a mobile site are targeted and simplified, the overall branding needs to resonate throughout their experience.”

With an act or two every day, McGonigel's Mucky Duck is always booked. Shows are planned months in advance, and now, fans can easily purchase tickets from the venue, website or mobile site. With Tecture's help, the live music venue reaches a larger audience and generates substantial income from the ecommerce system and mobile site.
