Announced on: 08/04/10 World Book was named the 2009 Best General Reference Source for its Public Library Edition of reference materials.  The Public Library Edition is made up of three unique parts:

• World Book Online Reference Center - Complete with 25,000 encyclopedia articles and thousands of additional articles, tutorials, maps, photographs, audio, and videos
• World Book Online Info Finder - Complete with over 40,000 encyclopedia and reference materials
• World Book Online For Kids - Easy-to-read articles for children, with images, interactive maps and teacher resources

LibraryJournal.com concluded its review of the reference resource as "a stunning success for serving public libraries; brilliantly conceived, implemented, and delivered."

World Book Online was also one of six finalists in the 2009 SIIA CODiE Awards for its authoritative content for diverse ages, reading levels, and learning styles.  The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) showcases the software and information industry's finest products and services, honoring excellence in corporate and philanthropic achievements.
