World Book Online. For years Tecture has proudly worked with World Book to bring efficient overall usability and exciting features to its myriad of users. Parents, teachers, and students around the globe enrich their scholastic experience by incorporating World Book into their curriculum, both on the printed page as well as through the various online applications and features.
Tecture provided front-end development for all facets of World Book Online learning such as World Book Discover, Kids, Student, Advanced, Dramatic Learning, and many others.
Tecture began its journey with Worldbook by helping create a Timeline application that allows students of all ages to explore a variety of premade editorial timelines from Ancient Egypt to the exploration of the New World to modern day presidential timelines. The Timelines app also allows students to create and share their own custom timelines such as putting together a timeline of their own family or other history project.
World Book Online features a Read Aloud application that synchronizes audio and highlighting text to literally read the onscreen text to the viewer. This has been especially useful to both younger and elderly students and knowledge-seekers.
Tecture also created a Compare Animals app that has since been made into an iPad app. The Compare Animals app allows kids to choose an animal "card" and compare it against other animals, allowing kids to compare the characteristics of a polar bear against that of an African elephant.
As technology advanced, Tecture also began to develop WorldBook's Mobile facing website providing mobile content for World Book's new mobile audience.
